Magnolia × soulangeana, commonly known as the saucer magnolia, is a popular deciduous hybrid tree or large shrub celebrated for its large, early-blooming flowers in shades of white, pink, and purple. It was developed in France in the 1820s by crossing Magnolia denudata and Magnolia liliiflora.
